In continuation of my letter R. and S. 2 cated

January 6th 1912, on the subject of the draft opium

convention drawn up at the Hague International Confer

ence, I am directed by the Secretary of State for

India in Council to say that the Government of India

have now reported that they have no objection to

the Convention being signed on behalf of India if

Sir William Meyer is satisfied that their policy

Indian people are adequately

and the needs of the

protected.
